Idaho is located in the Northwestern region of the United States. It is a very mountainous state that is completely landlocked. The climate varies throughout Boise; it can be hot during the summer, though it rarely gets over 98 degrees for more than a few days. Similarly, winters can get cold in Idaho but it is rare for the temperature to be around freezing for more than a few days.
In July 2012, the population of Idaho was estimated to be 1,595,728, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Idaho is the 39th most populous state and the 7th least densely populated state in the country. The largest city in the state is Boise, with a population of around 616,500. In 2013, Men’s Health magazine ranked Boise the #1 city in the country for men.
Security outlook in Idaho
In May 2012, there were 2,320 security guards employed throughout the state of Idaho. The location quotient for the field in Idaho is 0.48, which is lower than the national average. The majority of security guard jobs are located in the Boise metropolitan area; this area accounts for about 1,260 security jobs. While the population of Boise is expected to continue growing, so should the job opportunities for security guards.
State based financial aid
The State of Idaho offers several grants for college students, including one aimed at out-of-state students.
