The Massachusetts Office of Student Financial Assistance governs the financial aid in the state. Massachusetts offers a variety of grant and scholarship programs to help students fund their higher education. The MASSGrant provides financial assistance to undergraduate students who are residents of Massachusetts and are enrolled at an approved public or independent institution.

Students must enroll full-time in a certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree program and not received a previous bachelor’s degree. The award amount depends on the Estimated Family Contribution and institution. The Massachusetts Public Service Grant Program is available for students or spouses who have lost a family member in Massachusetts while on public service duty. Students must be residents of Massachusetts, enroll full time, and not have received a previous bachelor’s degree. Students may receive up to $2,500 per year.
